Chapel House, Hereford Road, Monmouth, Wales, is a Georgian townhouse, described by the architectural historian John Newman, as "the best house in the entire street".〔Newman, John (2000). The Buildings of Wales: Gwent/Monmouthshire''. Pevsner Architectural Guides. New Haven: Yale University Press. p. 407.〕 The house was designated a Grade II * listed building on 27 June 1952.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Chapel House, Monmouth )〕 The building is mid-eighteenth century or earlier and of "seven bays under a hipped roof."〔 The red-brick walls to the side, which give access to a service court and the garden stretching down to the River Monnow are "contemporary".〔 The interior contains plasterwork and a staircase which "echo Troy House and Great Castle House",〔 although John Newman considers that the quality of the interior fittings surpasses those of either. The house was built in 1752. Chapel House is now a boarding house of Monmouth School. It now holds boys from preps 3, 4, form 1, and form 2. ==References== 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Chapel House, Monmouth」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
